Young Men Overcoming Reality Everyday
Confidence. Leadership. Purpose.
YMORE is a six-week mentoring and life-skills program from Black Lion Consulting for young men ages 12–16.
Through guided conversations, hands-on activities, and teamwork, participants explore their strengths, practice communication, and develop practical ways to navigate everyday challenges.
A PLACE TO CONNECT & GROW
Growing up brings questions, pressures, and new responsibilities. YMORE gives young men space to speak honestly, learn alongside others, and practice making thoughtful choices.
We combine encouragement with accountability, helping participants identify what matters to them and take purposeful steps toward a personal goal.
THE SIX-WEEK JOURNEY
Week 1 — Know Your Strengths
Explore identity, values, and confidence. Recognize personal strengths and choose a goal to work toward throughout the program.
Week 2 — Choose Your Response
Recognize emotions, examine self-talk, and practice responding to frustration. Explore how thoughts, feelings, and actions connect.
Week 3 — Communicate With Respect
Practice listening, expressing needs, setting boundaries, and handling disagreements. Learn ways to ask for help and offer support.
Week 4 — Own Your Choices
Explore peer pressure, consequences, and personal responsibility. Practice making decisions and building habits that support your goals.
Week 5 — Lead Together
Practice cooperation, problem-solving, and leadership through a group challenge. Explore how individual choices contribute to a team.
Week 6 — My Next Chapter & Graduation
Reflect on what you’ve practiced, share a personal action plan, and celebrate completion with families.
WHAT SESSIONS LOOK LIKE
Each 90-minute session includes:
– A welcoming check-in
– A focused lesson and guided conversation
– An interactive activity or real-life scenario
– Reflection and a practical step to try before the next meeting
Activities are tailored to the ages and needs of the group. Participants are encouraged to contribute respectfully without being pressured to share personal experiences.
Families Are Part of the Journey
YMORE includes a parent or guardian orientation, a midpoint check-in, and a closing progress review.
Participants develop a personal goal plan and collect activities that show the skills they have practiced. Families receive practical suggestions for encouraging continued growth at home.
Parent or guardian consent is required. Expectations for participation, privacy, and safety are discussed before the program begins.
